JENNIFER ZALE

Growing up in Cincinnati, Jen was active in Dance from a very young age. She took Ballet and Jazz at the Nancy Norrick School of Ballet. Upon entering High School, Jen danced on the Lacota Drill team for four years. During her senior year, she served as captain. Jen graduated from the Ohio State University with a degree in Child and Family Studies. She got her elementary certification from Capitol University and got her Masters in Literacy from Miami University. She teaches first grade at Reading Community Schools. Just like teaching children, Jen enjoys teaching sharing her passion for Zumba with others and is thrilled to be a part of DARE TO DANCE!

RICHELE NOLD

Richele grew up in the West and was always involved in fitness and dance. Throughout high school and college, Richele was a member of the dance team. She majored in Physical Education with a Dance emphasis so that she could spread her love of fitness and dance to others. While in college, she performed in several campus productions. She also worked as the lighting director for the Alvin Ailey dance company. After college, Richele moved to Louisville, Kentucky where she landed a job teaching high school. Richele coached the high school dance team and took them all the way to the National Competition in Orlando, Florida where they placed third out of 120 teams. Since then, her personal dance and fitness goals have increased. She found Zumba Fitness. When she realized that it fused both her fitness and dance background, Richele was instantly hooked! She became a certified Zumba Fitness instructor and is looking forward to sharing her passion with others.

KELLY HARTINGS

Kelly was born in Winston-Salem, NC.  She has loved and been active in dance since she was 3 years old.  She took ballet for 12 years, was both a member and captain of her high school dance team, and continued dancing in college at EKU.  Now, Kelly is a full-time teacher, mother of two girls, and wife to her high school sweetheart. In her free-time, she enjoys exercising and dancing whenever possible.  As a teacher, Kelly coached three different dance teams for a total of eight years at both the middle school and high school levels.  While she is no longer coaching, she has found a way to mix her favorites: dance, exercise, and choreography.  ZUMBA!  After participating in Zumba classes for many years, Kelly worked hard to become a licensed Zumba Instructor; she now motivates others in reaching their health and fitness goals just as her past Zumba instructors have done for her!

DEBBIE THOMPSON

Debbie is an ACE certified Personal trainer who has been in the fitness community for over 25 years. As a young person she was considered "heavy".  Her life dedication to fitness has not only changed her life, but also has inspired many of her clients who can relate to Debbie’s weight struggles. Once she conquered her weight issues she pursued various fitness goals including the Ms. Cincinnati Bodybuilding Championship crown 1999, multiply marathons, triathlons and adventure races. Debbie also hosted a 3 time award winning educational Fitness TV series, “Fitness made Sensible”, for 8 seasons. She applies her personal experience to her training and also utilizes the most up-to-date training practices through ACE-approved courses. Debbie continues to learn and grow in order to be totally current in her training practices. Some of her continuing education includes balance training for older adults, functional training series, training for cycling and running, female eating disorders, amenorrhea, osteoporosis, exercise and cumulative trauma disorder and high performance core training.

STACEY POE

Stacey is originally from Cincinnati where she studied dance since the age of 3.  She started to compete regionally and nationally with The Studio for Dance at the age of 6.  Continuing in her passion of dance, she also participated in cheerleading during high school and started choreographing all the musicals of Milford High School since 9th grade and thereafter.  Being on stage and making people stars was her joy! During her early years of dance some of her accomplishments consist of winning the Cincinnati Overture Awards in Dance, performing on the “TODAY SHOW” and at Carnegie Hall in NYC, dancing with Eric Kunsel and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, performances with the Cincinnati Ballet Company- the Nutcracker and having minor roles in several other ballets.  Stacey attended the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music studying for her BFA in Dance.  While attending, she majored in classical ballet and modern, later graduated with Honors with her BFA.  Her extracurricular activity while attending was competing and performing with the Cincinnati Bearcats Dance Team.  After graduation, she danced with the NFL as a Ben-Gal Cheerleader and continued to teach here locally in varies styles of dance.  She also enjoyed being head coach for the McNicolas High School dance team. She fell in love with Zumba through a fund raiser she did for her team.  Her next NEW LOVE!!!  She is so excited to share with you her innovative choreography and “Poe Style” of Zumba!!!  In her words: “I love being part of such an awesome team here at DARE TO DANCE!!!”

RITA BENZA

Rita was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Growing up her sports included gymnastics, Swim Team as well as playing softball and cheerleading throughout High School. Rita has a dedication and passion for Health and Fitness.  Having lost her mother at 29 years old to Lung Cancer has only made her hunger and passion for Fitness and Health a priority not just in her life but in the lives of those that she comes in contact with. Rita came across Zumba Fitness and watched with her own eyes how Zumba can and IS changing the lives of many people. She was completely sold on the program and wanted to become a part of this family.  Helping to make a difference in the lives of so many by helping them to achieve their fitness and health goals one dance step at a time became a passion that continues to grow every day in her life.  Helping people of all ages, shapes and sizes achieve healthier lifestyles is an honor and privilege. Rita is currently studying to have an ACE certification in Group Exercise as well as AFAA cert in Personal Training. Fitness and Health is a long time passion of hers that she wants to share with the community she was born and raised in.

Jessica Orr

Jessica was raised in a suburb of Rochester, NY and began dancing at the age of 5. From then through her teenage years she studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and lyrical, competing in both lyrical and jazz throughout New York and Canada.

Jessica moved to Cincinnati in 2001. She is married with 4 beautiful children.

In 2010 after making a commitment to become more focused on her health and fitness, Jessica was introduced to Zumba. She was instantly hooked! This was the music and dance she grew up to in New York. She found a natural affinity and love for Zumba.

In 2011 she became a licensed Zumba Instructor and certified group fitness instructor through AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). Jessica has a passion for dance, fitness and choreography. She loves sharing her passion with others and is always eager to share Zumba Fitness with others and helping them reach their fitness goals!

She is so excited to be a part of the amazing team of instructors at Dare To Dance!!

Mariluz Rivera

Like a true Latina, Mariluz’s Puerto Rican background has provided her with a Latin flavor that runs through her blood. She was born and raised in Puerto Rico, where she started dancing on her mom’s womb. At least that’s what her parents made her believe since they competed in multiple salsa tournaments around their hometown. 

During her school years she was part of Puerto Rico Lucero Productions an participated as part of the dance crew for multiple plays such as “El Angel de Aquella Noche” and “Cautivos en Soledad”

In 1999, she moved to Orlando FL, where her passion for dancing continued. She became the Director of a Dance team for her church where she was in charge of the weekly choreographies for the youth services. In order to improve her skills she also took multiple workshops from Latin, to Ballet, to Contemporary Dance, to African Dance and Hip Hop.

After attending Zumba classes for over 5 years she finally decided to take the certification in 2012. She currently holds the basic Zumba certification and Zumba Gold.

Dancing has always been a passion of her along with acting. For her, dancing is not a hobby.  For her, dancing is not a status. For her dancing is a way of living!
